Imagine A Woman – Poem | Imagine A Woman II – Poem | IAW Coaching and Courses

I came across the poem Imagine A Woman, on the internet in 2006 while I was in the process of setting up The Goddess Academy. From the very first stanza, I was riveted.

Imagine a Woman who believes it is right and good she is a woman.
A woman who honors her experience and tells her stories.
Who refuses to carry the sins of others within her body and life

The poem touched me so profoundly I sought out the author, Patricia Lynn Reilly, and asked her if I could use it as the academy’s vision. She had articulated, with beauty, clarity and eloquence, the vision I had for the still nascent academy’s legacy. With Patricia’s blessings the poem became the academy’s vision statement.

When the poem turned 15, in 2010, Patricia launched a woman-affirming coaching protocol based on the stanza’s of the original and follow-up poems. As soon as the training was available I took it and became the first woman in Africa to be certified as an IAW Facilitator-Coach.

I now not only have the original poem as the academy’s vision, but as a member of Imagine A Woman International I have new tools to accomplish that vision; I am qualified to coach women and facilitate groups based on this unique, woman-affirming method.
