Talks by Kagiso Msimango | iamGoddess gatherings
Our vital resources – money, time and energy – are finite and in short supply. We would all achieve so much more if we had more money, more time and/or more energy. What would you do with more money, even if you just freed up an extra R1000 a month? How different would your life be if you had an extra hour a day? What would you spend it doing? What would you do if you had more energy, physical and mental?
For many women these resources are sucked up by the question “What Is Wrong With Me?” and its close companion “Who Is Going To Save Me?” Imagine how different your life would be if you believed that there was absolutely nothing wrong with you, that your body, feelings and thoughts were perfect exactly as they are right now. If you did not invest any resources into trying to discover, disguise or dissolve whatever you think is wrong with you. Just imagine…
“Pleasure is an essential nutrient that you need, each and every day, to become and remain healthy” – Dr Christine Northrup.
Pleasure is an essential nutrient. Not a luxury, a reward, nor a treat for special occasions. A daily dose of Vitamin Pleasure is a must. Yet, many women feel very guilty when they dedicate too much of their time and money to the pursuit of their own pleasure. We think it is a guilty pleasure, a treat to sneak in naughtily or experience only as a reward or salve after a rough time. Well, it shouldn’t be. I will give you numerous, legitimate reasons why pleasure is essential for your physical health, your mental health and your family, friends and society.
“When women feel good, they do good” – Iman
The 3Ps – Pleasure, Passion and Purpose – are the keys to a life of WOW!ness. A fulfilling, fabulously delicious life is pleasure-filled, passionate and purposeful. Purpose is the cornerstone. It unlocks one’s pleasure and passions.
Sadly many people are intimidated by the idea of embracing and pursuing their purpose. They wonder; “What is my purpose? Do I have more than one? Do I have to drop my life to pursue my purpose? What if I am no good at it? Do I have a purpose?”
So many stressful questions!
In his book The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success, Deepak Chopra lists the Law of Dharma as one of the seven. Dharma is Sanskrit for “Purpose in Life”. This Spiritual Law states that each and every soul incarnates for a purpose unique to that soul, and it is when the soul fulfills its purpose that it experiences inner peace, joy and fulfillment.
After this talk you will be very clear on how to identify your purpose and hopefully, inspired to pursue its fulfillment.
“There are only two types of women in the world, goddesses and doormats” – Pablo Picasso
I don’t know what Picasso meant by this quote, but I love how it provocatively delivers a great wisdom.
The purpose of a doormat is to clean the soles of your shoes. It exists to be stepped on, which is why the term is used to describe people who ‘let others walk all over them’; victims who don’t stand up for themselves. Life happens to a doormat. A goddess on the other hand, is a deity. The word evokes images of powerful women, beauty, adoration and a clear sense of self, the antithesis of a doormat.
Goddesses and doormats are polar opposites so extreme that they could not possibly be the only two molds in which women are found, right? Wrong. You are either happening to life – goddess – or life is walking all over you – doormat. Often victimhood appears attractive because if things are happening to us, we can blame, have pity parties and wait for rescue. It is easy but also disempowering. Opting to be a goddess means taking responsibility for your life and everything in it. Be inspired to always choose goddesshood.
